Enjoy the easy atmosphere you
find in Venice.
A DREAM DESTINATION The Inn at the Beach is situated by the tranquil waters of Florida’s Gulf Coast, minutes from I-75 and US-41. From I-75 north or south take Exit #193 (Jacaranda Bvd.) south to Venice Ave. Turn right. Travel west until Venice Ave Meets the Gulf. The Inn is on your left.
Stroll along Venice Avenue with its Italian renaissance-style architecture, browse through the shops and boutiques or stop for a rest and refreshment at one of the many eateries or small cafes. Play a round of golf at one of the local championship courses or try tennis, fishing or boating – all are nearby. The Island is also host to several special events and art festivals throughout the year.
Sarasota, an arts and cultural hot spot is a short 40- minute drive from Venice. There you can enjoy opera, theatre, concert events, the famous Ringling Museum and the Ca da’ Zan, home of John and Mabel Ringling.
Venice Theatre: Venice Theatre is one of the largest community theaters in the United States, but that doesn’t take away from its intimate, welcoming atmosphere. A huge variety of shows are constantly rotating with actors of all ages whose talent is nothing short of fantastic. A night at the theatre is a great place to enjoy a relaxing evening out.
Venice Fishing Pier: Venice has countless spots along the coast to fish. A local favorite is the Venice Fishing Pier. No matter how large the crowd is, it’s never too crowded for more fishermen or sightseers. Sharks can often be caught in the deep waters near the end of the pier. If baiting a hook isn’t up your alley, it’s also a great place to catch some of the most beautiful sunsets Florida has to offer!
Waterway Park: Nothing is more refreshing than Florida sunshine, fresh air, and the occasional turtle spotting. Walk or bicycle down any of the numerous quiet paths in Waterway Park and enjoy a no- traffic, no- fuss day. Take the trails to the beach, pier, or a near by restaurant.
Yoga: Beginner or expert, Venice has tons of yoga classes available. Take a few indoor lessons or grab a mat and enjoy a class –or two- on the beach. Watch the sunrise, listen to the waves crash, and feel the salty breeze as you start the perfect day with some beach yoga!
Music: Venice is home to many beaches, but its main beach, Venice Beach, plays host to live music almost every night of the week!
Deer Prairie Creek: Enjoy Florida and all of its natural beauty in this large nature preserve. Take a walk through Deer Prairie Creek to discover beautiful surroundings. Expect to see deer, turkey, hogs, and alligators. Take a relaxing stroll through the trails on horseback with a professionally guided tour for a once- in- a- lifetime Florida experience!
Massage/Spa: Floridians are no strangers to relaxation and what better way to calm the nerves and get in vacation-mode than with a relaxing massage? There are over ten wonderful massage places from which to choose.
Golf: A South Florida vacation can’t be complete without world-class golfing! Bring your own clubs or rent some at any of Venice’s award-winning courses. Not a pro? Visit a near by mini-golf course to satisfy the whole family!
Shark Teeth: Venice is the shark tooth capital of the world! Keep an eye out for shark teeth while you’re collecting shells- they can often be found washed up on the beach or buried in the sand. Shark teeth can be found any time, but your best chances are after a storm when the changing tides and waves uncover them!
The Legacy Trail: Venice is an award winning bike community and the newly opened Legacy Trail showcases why. Take a short bike ride on this paved trail or ride directly to Sarasota through beautiful Florida habitats.
Restaurants: Enjoy the tastes of the worlds without ever leaving Venice! Downtown is home to world-class dining with everything from Thai, Italian, Japanese, French, and more! Be sure to save room for dessert as well, with a number of ice cream parlors and bakeries all within walking distance!
Shopping/Arts: A trip to Venice isn’t complete without a stroll downtown through the historic shopping district. With a mix of antique shops, specialty boutiques, designer stores, souvenir shops, plus an indoor mall and art gallery, it won't be hard to find that perfect piece –or pieces- of your Venice getaway to bring back home!
